Hey you!

Thank you so much for stopping by The Vane Studio!  For those of you that don't know me yet, my name is Sara Taylor McCann and I'm a creative soul with a passion for designing through every art and craft imaginable.  I'm a mom of two littles, wife of a very patient husband, and I am finally fully diving into figuring out my calling.

I'm starting The Vane Studio with my biggest passion which is small batch polymer clay jewelry.  I love that no two sets are ever exactly alike which allows people to express their individuality even more.  I plan on adding more jewelry, gift ideas and a how-to section in the future so I hope you stick along for the journey and do a little shopping in the process.

xoxo, Sara

A little more to the story....

So let's dive a little deeper shall we? I started my big girl career in Human Resources in 2010.  My first side business I started was sewing baby boy apparel (newsboy hats, vests, ties, and suspenders) 10 years ago.  It was the first time I felt confident enough to offer something I had created to others and although very scary, tedious, and not sustainable, I was able to build my confidence in my artistic abilities.  I quickly burned out and decided to focus on my full time career.  Fast forward 5 years.... one year old at home, many new hobby crafts learned and a love of baking brewing.  I looked for cookies for my little girl Mya's birthday and decided to try my hand at decorated cookies.  Insert a home bakery, My Oh Mya, here.  My books filled up quickly and in 6 months I was able to quit my job to focus on baking full time.  What a wild ride that was for 3 years!  What started as a way to spend more time with my family quickly turned into late nights, missed events, sleepless weekends and the complete opposite of what the goal was.  I wanted another baby and more stability so back to the 8-5 working world I went.  5 years with the most incredible boss, coworkers and work family was just what I needed in those years.  I always felt a pull to my creativity but never could build the confidence or figure out the right balance so I stayed put.  Then in 2021 my sister passed away followed too closely in 2022 by my best friend.  Life is too short.  I'm diving in.  I don't have it all figured out but I know where I want to start and what I want to be a main focus.  I have done extensive research on the best materials and techniques for clay jewelry and I am extremely confident in what I can offer.  I can't wait to dive in further and "taylor" things to what you all want!  I want to hear from you so please don't hesitate to reach out!
